Male privilege and entitlement are dying a very painful death; no one gives up power without a struggle.

There appears to be a disturbing trend in this nation to try to force single moms to choose between their children and their careers. If they take their careers seriously, they are labeled as bad mothers. If they spend time with their children, they are labeled as people who can't be serious about careers outside the home. This is a sexist double standard. No such guilt trip is imposed on men, who are generally not forced to choose between their children and their jobs.

As my father would have said, I went through the college of hard knocks.

I have two grandchildren.

I'm not interested in dating. I like being with my own best friend, me. Certain women, particularly older women, cannot believe I like going to a social event by myself. But I do.

There are enough high hurdles to climb, as one travels through life, without having to scale artificial barriers created by law or silly regulations.

Generally, dictatorships do not work in marriage - or, for that matter, in any other relationship.
