I spend a lot of time on college campuses, and I don't quite understand where the idea comes from that young women are not moving forward. In fact, statistically, if you look at the public opinion polls, young women are much more supportive of feminism and feminist issues than older women are.

Nature doesn't move in a straight line, and as part of nature, neither do we.

The future depends entirely on what each of us does every day; a movement is only people moving.

An education is not a thing one gets, but a lifelong process.

It's obviously a great sign of growth and success that the media no longer try to embody the bigness and diversity of the women's movement in one person. Only a diverse group can symbolize a movement.

You may very well fall in love with somebody who makes less money, who's younger than you, who weighs less than you.

No one can give us power. If we aren’t part of the process of taking it, we won’t be strong enough to use it.
