I know your lives are busy. I know that you have much to do. But I make you a promise that if you will go to the house of the Lord, you will be blessed; life will be better for you.

It is good to look to the past to gain appreciation for the present and perspective for the future.

I hope you are reading to your children, out loud. That's much better than watching television, much better. They won't get very much out of television except some bad thoughts.

We live in a world of shifting values. The family is falling apart. Parents failing in what they ought to do.

You are good. But it is not enough just to be good. You must be good for something.

We can begin ever so modestly. We can begin with a one week's food supply and gradually build it to a month, and then to three months. I am speaking now of food to cover basic needs. . .I fear that so many feel that a long-term food supply is so far beyond their reach that they make no effort at all. . .Begin in a small way, ... and gradually build toward a reasonable objective.

By and large, I have come to see that if we complain about life, it is because we are thinking only of ourselves.
