I am reminded of the old court jester who was supposed to entertain his king with interesting stories and antics. He looked at the king who was lolling on his throne, a drunken, filthy rascal, doffed his cap and bells, and said with a mock gesture of obeisance, โO king, be loyal to the royal within you.โ And so I say to you young people today, remember your heritage, and be loyal to that royal lineage that you have as members of the church and kingdom of God on the earth.
Harold B. LeeMy humble prayer is that all men everywhere may understand more fully the significance of the atonement of the Savior of all mankind, who has given us the plan of salvation which will lead us into eternal life, where God and Christ dwell.
Harold B. LeeYou cannot lift another soul until you are standing on higher ground than he is. You cannot light a fire in another soul unless it is burning in your own soul.
Harold B. LeeIt's all right to pull the cow out of the mud on Sunday, provided that you don't push him in on Saturday night.
Harold B. LeeI earnestly urge all our people to unite under the true banner of the Master, to teach the gospel of Jesus Christ so powerfully that no truly converted person could ever be aligned with these controversial concepts and procedures contrary to the Lord's plan of salvation.
Harold B. LeeThe one who confidently looks forward to an eternal reward for his efforts in mortality is constantly sustained through his deepest trials. When he is disappointed in love, he does not commit suicide. When loved ones die, he doesnโt despair; when he loses a coveted contest, he doesnโt falter; when war and destruction dissipate his future, he doesnโt sink into a depression. He lives above his world and never loses sight of the goal of his salvation.
