I did get bullied and I did get picked on and I did have that feeling in my gut of being incredibly self-conscious. I naturally gravitated towards my elders because I didn't know how to speak or be present with my peers.

I smile so much at the theater my face hurts when I leave.

I'm not going to let fear rule my life. I'd rather be able to know that I've made a choice that's right for me, than saying yes because I don't want my agents to be upset with me.

We do have a choice at the end of the day to say yes or to say no. There have been things that I have passed on where agents at the time were like, "you're crazy, why would you pass on this," because it wasn't something that I personally wanted to be a part of.

It doesn't matter if a critic pans or praises my movies, I am only concerned about that one audience member and what their experience is.

I feel that I've been very fortunate in the films that I have gotten and that I've chosen to do.

You have your private life and you have your public life, and just don’t let them interfere.
