If it involves some chastening and renunciation, well, the fruit will be all the sweeter for this touch of holiness.

I, for one, love strength, daring, fortitude. I do not want people to kill the fight in them; I want them to fight for right things.

I trust, and I recognize the beneficence of the power which we all worship as supreme- Order, Fate, the Great Spirit, Nature, God. I recognize this power in the sun that makes all things grow and keeps life afoot. I make a friend of this indefinable force…this is my religion of optimism.

I look upon the whole world as my fatherland, and every war has to me the horror of a family feud.
