What is morality but immemorial custom? Conscience is the chief of conservatives.

It is not in their wills to be wise or to be loving; but, unless each is both wise and loving, there can be neither wisdom nor love.

To speak or do anything that shall concern mankind, one must speak and act as if well, or from that grain of health which he has left.
