I try to be well informed. I don't know how well I do all the time, but I try nonetheless.

Being an artist is dragging your innermost feelings out, giving a piece of yourself, no matter in which art form, in which medium.

I do think that Americans are poorly served by their media, at times extremely poorly served by their elected officials who are non responsive to majority feelings and cut off to a certain degree from the affairs of the world.

What strikes me is most of the time, the bigger the celeb/legend, the more polite and cool they are. It's the insecure ones who treat you like they're doing you a favor by shaking your hand.

America is a country born from semi-mythologized blood, glory and acts of selfless patriotic sacrifice.

I travel because I want to know. Books and documentaries will only get you so far. If you want to know, you will have to go.
