I want to try to counter what Donald Trump says because a lot of it is mean-spirited and would hurt people.

I don't want to get into some sort of back-and-forth on insults because that just drags everybody down.

They [parents] can resist the impulse to "prove" their love by showering children with things they do not need and give them precisous time and attention instead.

What I'm concerned about is the views of many Democrats who know their states, who know how hard it is to win a general election. And it also will push whoever the nominee is into the spotlight. I've been vetted. There's hardly anything you don't know about me. And I think it's fair to say that whoever is in that position, Senator Bernie Sanders or anyone else who might have run, will face the most withering onslaught.

I certainly don't read coverage of me, I read what else is going on that I need to know about to do my job.

There are places that are thriving in America that don't need very much help, and then there are places where people feel so discouraged and so left behind, like nobody cares about them. And I want to try to help there.

I have met thousands and thousands of pro-choice men and women. I have never met anyone who is pro-abortion. Being pro-choice is not being pro-abortion. Being pro-choice is trusting the individual to make the right decision for herself and her family, and not entrusting that decision to anyone wearing the authority of government in any regard.
