The gun epidemic is the leading cause of death of young African- American men, more than the next nine causes put together. So we have to do two things, as I said. We have to restore trust. We have to work with the police. We have to make sure they respect the communities and the communities respect them.

In the aftermath of September 11, and as the 9/11 Commission report so aptly demonstrates, it is clear that our intelligence system is not working the way that it should.

And just as we have worked together since the last century to secure these rights in the material world, we must work together in this century to secure them in cyberspace.

Women offer unique contributions to making and keeping peace - and that those contributions lead to better outcomes not just for women, but for entire societies.
