It’s always surprising to me how many young women think they have to be perfect. I rarely meet a young man who doesn’t think he already is.

There are places that are thriving in America that don't need very much help, and then there are places where people feel so discouraged and so left behind, like nobody cares about them. And I want to try to help there.

I've had extraordinary good luck with my health, other than a broken elbow.

I'm the granddaughter of a factory worker from Scranton, Pennsylvania. He went to work in the same lace mill every day for 50 years. He believed he passed it down to my dad, who passed it down to me, that if he did what he was supposed to do, he'd have a good life and his kids would have an even better life. That is the American dream. That is what we believe in, that's what we've got to keep going generation after generation.

Who is going to find out? These women are trash. Nobody’s going to believe them.
