We must stop thinking of the individual and start thinking about what is best for society.

It's important to recognize the vital role that the financial markets play in our economy and that so many of you are contributing to. To function effectively those markets and the men and women who shape them have to command trust and confidence, because we all rely on the market's transparency and integrity. So even if it may not be 100 percent true, if the perception is that somehow the game is rigged, that should be a problem for all of us, and we have to be willing to make that absolutely clear.

What I have proposed would be paid for by raising taxes on the wealthy, because they have made all the gains in the economy.

It's time for a new beginning, for an end to government of the few, by the few, for the few, and to replace it with shared responsibility for shared prosperity.

It means a great deal to have the faith and trust of so many people who share the view and vision I have for the USA and I'm going to do everything I can not to let them down.

I would say that when you have a big dream or you're trying to solve a big problem, there will always be people who tell you that you can't. Here's my advice: don't listen.
