The United States has kept the peace through our alliances. Donald Trump wants to tear up our alliances. I think it makes the world safer and, frankly, it makes the United States safer. I would work with our allies in Asia, in Europe, in the Middle East, and elsewhere. That's the only way we're going to be able to keep the peace.

People should and do trust me.

When the middle class thrives, the country thrives, and when it doesn't, we don't.

Our history has moved in that direction slowly at times but unmistakably thanks to generations of Americans who refused to give up or back down.Now you are writing a new chapter of that story. This campaign [2016] is about making sure there are no ceilings, no limits on any of us. And this our moment to come together.

I don't think any of us have the answers to everything. There's no human being on earth who fits that category. So why wouldn't you ask for help? Why wouldn't you run ideas by people that you respect? Too many young people cast around trying to figure out what the answer is themselves, because they're afraid to come back and say, "I'm not sure I understood you," or "Could you give me a little more information about what you need?" Just do that. It saves you time, it saves your boss's or mentor's time. And it's a great lesson to learn.

Incomes went up for everybody. Manufacturing jobs went up also in the 1990s, if we're actually going to look at the facts.

Presidents should be very careful at all times in discussing the use or non-use of nuclear weapons. Presidents since the cold war have used nuclear deterrence to keep the peace, and I don't believe that any president should make any blanket statements with respect to the use or non-use of nuclear weapons.
