The word gap leads to an achievement gap and has life-long consequences

The American president has to both keep our families safe and make the economy grow in a way that helps everyone, not just those at the top. That`s the job. I have a strategy to combat and defeat ISIS without getting us involved in another ground war. And I have plans to raise incomes and deal with a lot of the problems that keep families up at night.

Equal pay is not yet equal. A woman makes $0.77 on a dollar and women of color make $0.67... We feel so passionately about this because we are not only running for office, but we each, in our own way, have lived it. We have seen it. We have understood the pain and the injustice that has come because of race, because of gender. And it's imperative that... we make it very clear that each of us will address these issues.

I'm reaching out to all Americans - Democrats, Republicans, and independents - because we need everybody to help make our country what it should be, to grow the economy, to make it fairer, to make it work for everyone. We need your talents, your skills, your commitments, your energy, your ambition.

I never respond to Donald Trump's personal insults about me. I could care less what he says about me. I'm going to respond when he calls a judge unqualified because of his Mexican heritage, or mocks a reporter with a disability, or says demeaning things about women. And the list goes on.

I mean, I'm a big believer in talking to people when you can and trying to solve problems when you can.

I was against it [Trans-Pacific Partnership] once , it was finally negotiated and the terms were laid out.
