When you fall in love and you get married, it’s such a relief. You’re like, ‘Oh, this feels so right and this woman is just so great and I love her.’ And then you have a kid — it kind of just gets even bigger. And it’s frustrating and it’s tiring and all those things but your sense of, like, living life becomes so much bigger.
Hugh JackmanAs an actor, you have many tools - your body, your voice, your emotions, mentally. In film, you have your eyes because they communicate your thought process. In fact, generally in film, what you don't say is more important than what you say. That's not so much the case for stage.
Hugh JackmanAnd I think that, of course, there is some dysfunction of needing to be liked or noticed or to feel part of things, something going on there for most actors. For some there's not and I think they really struggle with it.
Hugh JackmanI treat auditions like I treated my first dates. It's an opportunity to get to know a stranger and to learn from each other.
Hugh JackmanI never wanted to go longer than five years off the stage. Not necessarily musicals, but just doing a play or something.
