We never know who they are that God will draw, and have nothing to do with it. Our duty is to invite all, and leave it to God to choose the vessels of mercy.

A true Christian is one who has not only peace of conscience, but war within. He may be known by his warfare as well as by his peace.

A tree may always be known by its fruit, and a true Christian may always be discovered by their habits, tastes & affections.

There are eternal consequences resulting from all our thoughts, words and actions, of which we take far too little account.

Love should be the silver thread that runs through all your conduct. Kindness, gentleness, long suffering, forbearance, patience, sympathy, a willingness to enter into childish troubles, a readiness to take part in childish joys, - these are the cords by which a child may be led most easily, - these are the clues you must follow if you would find the way to his heart.

The cross is the foundation of the Bible: If you have not yet found out that Christ crucified is the foundation of the whole volume, you have hitherto read your Bible to very little profit. Your religion is a heaven without a sun, an arch without a keystone, a compass without a needle, a clock without a spring or weights, a lamp without oil. It will not comfort you; it will not deliver your soul from hell.

The blood of Christ can cleanse away all sin. But we must 'plead guilty' before God can declare us innocent.
