If I never spoke of hell, I should think I had kept back something that was profitable, and should look on myself as an accomplice of the devil.

True repentance is no light matter. It is a thorough change of heart about sin, a change showing itself in godly sorrow and humiliation - in heartfelt confession before the throne of grace - in a complete breaking off from sinful habits, and an abiding hatred of all sin. Such repentance is the inseparable companion of saving faith in Christ.

A saved soul has many sorrows. They have their share of bereavements, deaths, disappointments , crosses. What shall enable a believer to bear all this? Nothing but the consolation there is in Christ.

Wherever we may be, or whatever our circumstances, the Lord Jesus sees them. We are never beyond the reach of His care.

When a person’s tongue is extensively wrong, it is absurd, no less than unscriptural, to say that their heart is right.

Let us be very careful that we never exalt any minister, or sermon, or book, or friend above the Word of God.

If you and sin are friends, you and God are not yet reconciled.
