As long as the reason of man continues fallible, and he is at liberty to exercise it, different opinions will be formed.

If this spirit shall ever be so far debased, as to tolerate a law not obligatory on the legislature, as well as on the people, the people will be prepared to tolerate any thing but liberty.

Liberty may be endangered by the abuse of liberty, but also by the abuse of power.

The people shall not be restrained from peacefully assembling and consulting for their common good, nor from applying to the legislature by petitions, or remonstrances for redress of their grievances.
