Every time I went out, someone had to look at me or talk to me, and I just got sick of it. Now I have a very anonymous life, which I really love, and then I come to New York, and people bug out of me.

You get a lot of mileage from understanding what your voice is. When you have a strong idea and you know exactly what you're doing, it becomes hard for people to throw up resistance. It becomes much easier to work with you.

You don't want to be stopped. But it happens to everybody, like if you bump into an old friend or something. Luckily with an old friend, you can be like, "I'm having a diarrhea attack. Can I call you later?" And you can't really do that with a stranger.

You never know what people are going to respond to or want in your work, and you just hope for the best when you design a collection, and try to make it as well-rounded as you can.
