Christ walked the path every mortal is called to walk so that he would know how to succor and strengthen us in our most difficult times. He knows the deepest and most personal burdens we carry. He knows the most public and poignant pains we bear. He descended below al such grief in order that he might lift us above it. There is no anguish or sorrow or sadness in life that he has not suffered in our behalf and borne away upon his own valiant and compassionate shoulders.

One of the great consolations . . . is that because Jesus walked such a long, lonely path utterly alone, we do not have to do so.

Surely the thing God enjoys most about being God is the thrill of being merciful, especially to those who don't expect it and often feel they don't deserve it.

HAPPINESS comes first by what comes into your head a long time before material BLESSINGS come into your hand.

Along with filters on computers and a lock on affections, remember that the only real control in life is self-control.

We are not diminished when someone else is added upon.
