The burden of being black is that you have to be superior just to be equal. But the glory of it is that, once you achieve, you have achieved, indeed.

It does not stand to give banks millions of dollars at an interest rate of one percent, when banks charge students an interest rate of 6 percent. Why should the banks be scalping students?

When you create more small businesses, you create small entrepreneurship. Out of that comes self-determination and employment.

When we're unemployed, we're called lazy; when the whites are unemployed it's called a depression.

We have a moral concern to feed all of the hungry, wipe out malnutrition, so that every American be housed and every child have access to education.

How can you have in our country that is based upon liberality and liberation, be so anti-liberal. That's toxic waste to our consciousness. It's hard to be an American conservative because that's a contradiction in terms. Now if you take away freedom of speech, freedom of press, freedom of protest, and lock people out based upon their race, their language and their religion, that's conservative and fascist. America is a liberal idea.
