A few years ago I lost one of my dearest friends. He died at age 53 - heart attack. David is gone, but he was one of my very special friends. I used to say of David that if I was stuck in a foreign jail somewhere accused unduly and if they would allow me one phone call, I would call David. Why? He would come and get me. That's a friend. Somebody who would come and get you.

The most valuable form of discipline is the one that you impose upon yourself.

Don't take the casual approach to life. Casualness leads to casualties.

If you're going to affirm something, affirm the truth. Then go do something about it.

If kids clearly see the promise, they will gladly pay the price.

Walk away from the 97% crowd. Don't use their excuses. Take charge of your own life.

Do whatever you have to do as quickly as you can, so you can do whatever you WANT to do, for as long as you can.
