Inside each of us is a monster; inside each of us is a saint. The real question is which one we nurture the most, which one will smite the other.

We dont have to accept each others beliefs..but we do have to accept each others right to believe them.

May be you had to come close to losing something before you could remember its value.

Technically I've improved - I might turn a metaphor in five words now, where years ago, it would have taken me a paragraph. I can't say it was intentional - but you know what they say about practice making perfect...!

But I didn't frame it; I put into an envelope and sealed it and stuffed it far back into a corner drawer of a filing cabinet. It's there, just in case one of these days I start to lose her. There might be a morning when I wake up and her face isn't the first thing I see. Or a lazy August afternoon when I can't quite recall anymore where the freckles were on her right shoulders. Maybe one of these days, I will not be able to listen to the sound of snow falling and hear her footsteps.

It's certainly my honor to be able to, hopefully, change the world a tiny bit, one mind at a time.

There are some nights when you just want to know there's someone else besides you in this wide world.
