Who spit in your porridge?

When you finally start to write something, do not let yourself stop...even when you are convinced it's the worst garbage ever. This is the biggest caveat for beginning writers. Instead, force yourself to finish what you began, and THEN go back and edit it.

Because hate's just the flip side of love. Like heads and tails on a dime. If you don't know what it feels like to love someone, how would you know what hate is? One can't exist without the other.

People have to experience things that terrify them. If they don't, how will they ever come to appreciate safety?

You can widen the feet of a compass, but they are still attached at the top; you can spin them away from each other, but you always wind up where you started.

Then they scrambled through the window and into the darkness, determined to turn themselves into what they were not.

In books, you always know what's coming next. There are no surprises.
