When heaven breaks, who fixes it?

Sometimes when you find something you didn't really realize you were looking for, you just don't know how to react.

Once, I asked my mom why stars shine. She said they were night-lights, so the angels could find their way around in Heaven. But when I asked my dad, he started talking about gas, and somehow I put it all together and figured that the food God served caused multiple trips to the bathroom in the middle of the night.

But once you throw a stone, there are ripples in the pond, even if you remove the rock.

My teacher in first grade said that long ago people used to believe all kinds of things, because they didn't know any better. Like you shouldn't take a bath, because it could make you sick. And then someone saw germs under a microscope and started to think differently. You can believe something really hard, and still be wrong. (Faith White)

There are two reasons not to tell the truth--becuase lying will get you what you want, and because lying will keep someone from getting hurt.

No child really chooses his religion; it is just the luck of the draw which blanket of beliefs you are wrapped in.
