I was part of the journey of a remarkable man [Barack Obama] who did remarkable things.

Obama and Biden want to raise taxes by a trillion dollars. Guess what? Yes, we do in one regard. We want to let that trillion dollar tax cut expire so the middle class doesn't have to bear the burden of all that money going to the super-wealthy. That's not a tax raise. That's called fairness where I come from.

In this world, emotion has become suspect - the accepted style is smooth, antiseptic and passionless.

I think it is very possible he [Donald Trump] could be nominated and depending on how this all plays out, I would take him seriously in terms of being able to win because he's appealing to a very, very - he's appealing to fear.

There's a false choice being put forward by some Democrats now. Either we double-down on our progressive values, or we go out there and talk about the middle class and the working class. I've never found them inconsistent. They go together.

But all our differences hardly measure up to the values we all hold in common.
