Sometimes I hear people talk about discipline of self and I think, if you don't have passion, I might discipline myself for a week or two but only passion will hold me steady.

If you think you are the entire picture, you will never see the big picture.

There is something to be said about a pastor and a church that develop a missions statement and the people take ownership of it. They get their identity, purpose, and energy from the unique place their church is to be in that community.

Passion creates energy and magnetically pulls co-workers and customers into a shared vision, and it is exceptionally strong when linked with a leader's values.

The first time you say something, it's heard. The second time, it's recognized, and the third time it's learned.

Success is... knowing your purpose in life, growing to reach your maximum potential, and sowing seeds that benefit others.

If the church is going to make a difference, it will need to go through the "big give-up" stage. Churches will need to quit being selfish and become relevant.
