I looked at 73 climate models going back to 1979 and every single one predicted more warming than happened in the real world.
John ChristyThere is no doubt there is more carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, caused by the burning of fossil fuels. It should have an effect on the climate, but the numbers indicate that effect is relatively minor.
John Christy...it is fairly well agreed that the surface temperature will rise about 1ยฐC as a modest response to a doubling of atmospheric CO2 if the rest of the component processes of the climate system remain independent of this response.
John Christy[W]e are not morally bad people for taking carbon and turning it into the energy that offers life to humanity in a world that would otherwise be brutal (think of life before modernity). On the contrary, we are good people for doing so.
