The processes of growth are gradual, bearing fruit in a decade, not a day.

It is increasingly clear that no matter what party is in power, so long as our national security needs keep rising, an economy hampered by restrictive tax rates will never produce enough jobs or enough profits.

Wealth is the means, and people are the ends. All our material riches will avail us little if we do not use them to expand the opportunities of our people.

Diplomacy and defense are not substitutes for one another. Either alone would fail.

And this Nation, for all its hopes and all its boasts, will not be fully free until all its citizens are free.
