We want to be first; not first if, not first but; but first!

I would encourage every American to walk as often as possible. It's more than healthy; it's fun.

To be courageous requires no exceptional qualifications, no magic formula, no special combination of time, place, and circumstance. It is an opportunity that sooner or later is presented to us all.

First I believe that this Nation should commit itself to achieving the goal, before this decade is out, of landing a man on the Moon.

The new and terrible dangers which man has created can only be controlled by man.

We are not here to curse the darkness, but to light the candle that can guide us through that darkness to a safe and sane future.

So, let us not be blind to our differences - but let us also direct attention to our common interests and to the means by which those differences can be resolved.
