Remember that our nation's first great leaders were also our first great scholars.

This is one country. It has become one country because all of us and all the people who came here had an equal chance to develop their talents. The Republican Party can lead any person to believe that their promises will be fulfilled in the future. They follow the Hitler line – no matter how big the lie; repeat it often enough and the masses will regard it as truth.

First I believe that this Nation should commit itself to achieving the goal, before this decade is out, of landing a man on the Moon.

The life of the arts is far from an interruption, a distraction, in the life of a nation, is close to the center of a nation's purpose-and is a test of the quality of a nations' civilization.
