I know there is a God - I see the storm coming and I see his hand in it - if he has a place then I am ready - we see the hand.

If we cannot now end our differences, at least we can help make the world safe for diversity.

If my church attempted to influence me in a way which was improper or which affected adversely my responsibilities as a public servant sworn to uphold the Constitution, then I would reply to them that this was an improper action on their part. It was one to which I could not subscribe.

The problems with this world cannot possibly be solved by sceptics or cynics whose horizons are limited by the obvious realities. We need people who can dream of things that never were.

I suppose if you could have only one thing, it would be that-energy. Without it, you haven't got a thing.

No government or social system is so evil that its people must be considered as lacking in virtue.
