The Jewish people, ever since David slew Goliath, have never considered youth as a barrier to leadership.

Abroad, the balance of power is shifting. There are new and more terrible weapons - new and uncertain nations - new pressures of population and deprivation.

The torch has been passed to a new generation of Americans, born in this century... unwilling to witness or permit the slow undoing of those human rights to which this nation has always been committed, and to which we are committed today.

The present tax codes inhibit the mobility and formation of capital, add complexities and inequities which undermine the morale of the taxpayer, and make tax avoidance rather than market factors a prime consideration in too many economic decisions.

For only when our arms are sufficient beyond doubt can we be certain beyond doubt that they will never be employed.

We choose to go to the moon in this decade and do the other things. Not because they are easy, but because they are hard.

Here on earth, God's work must surely be our own.
