Before Cliff (Richard) and The Shadows, there had been nothing worth listening to in British music.

I still don't know how to express the really delicate personal stuff. People think that Plastic Ono is very personal, but there are some subtleties of emotions which I cannot seem to express in pop music, and it frustrates me. Maybe that's why I still search for other ways of expressing myself. Song writing is a limiting experience in some ways - writing down words that have to rhyme.

I wanted to give five solid years of being there all the time (with Sean). I hadn't seen my first son Julian grow up, and now there's a 17-year-old man on the phone talking about motorbikes. No matter what artistic gains I get, or gold records, if I can't make a success out of my relationship with the people I love, then everything else is bullsh*t.

The world is still spinning and so are we and so are you. When the spinning stops - that'll be the time to worry. Not before.

From this moment on I know exactly where my life will go: seems that all I really was doing was waiting for love.

I don't miss it. I'm glad it happened, but I don't miss it.
