Ignatius, when he heard the clock strike, would say, "Now I have another hour to answer for." (Eph. 5:16)

Marriage is not mainly about prospering economically; it is mainly about displaying the covenant-keepin g love between Christ and his church. Knowing Christ is more important than making a living. Treasuring Christ is more important than bearing children. Being united to Christ by faith is a greater source of marital success than perfect sex and double-income prosperity.

The ultimate aim of the gospel is the display of God’s glory.

Will I find spiritual communion with God sweet enough, and hope in his promises deep enough, not just to cope, but to flourish and rejoice in him?

I have tried to devote my life - with all my husband failures, father failures, pastor failures, friend failures, any other possible failures I'm sure I've done them - to the God-centeredness of God and my aspiring, yearning to join Him in that activity. God is passionate about hallowing the name of God.

We embrace the hand we've been dealt, because we know the Dealer, and he never deals badly.

Don't follow a defeated foe. Follow Christ. It is costly. You will be an exile in this age. But you will be free.
