All that looks like reality to us is dependent on God. There is creation and Creator, nothing more. And creation gets all its meaning and purpose from God.

Reading is more important to me than eating.

If God were not just, there would be no demand for his Son to suffer and die. And if God were not loving, there would be no willingness for his Son to suffer and die. But God is both just and loving. Therefore his love is willing to meet the demands of his justice.

This is God's universal purpose for all Christian suffering: more contentment in God and less satisfaction in the world.

Adjust your doctrine - or just minimize doctrine - to attract the world, and in the very process of attracting them, lose the radical truth that alone can set them free.

If we love God's fame and are committed to magnifying His name above all things, we cannot be indifferent to world missions.

The whole world lives for pleasure. The only difference is theirs is fleeting, while ours is forever in Jesus.
