All that a Christian does, even in eating and sleeping, is prayer, when it is done in simplicity, according to the order of God, without either adding to or diminishing from it by his own choice.

Reading Christians are growing Christians. When Christians cease to read, they cease to grow.

Even those who are farthest out of the way never compel to come in by any other means than reason, truth, and love.

The longer I live, the larger allowances I make for human infirmities. I exact more from myself and less from others.
