A mentor must always guide, never push. It was my job to listen to them, offer my perspective, and encourage them to pursue the ideals they believed to be true.

First be the best and then be first

You can't live a perfect day without doing something for someone who will never be able to repay you.

I don't believe in looking back. If you make a decision that you think is the proper one at a time, then that's the correct decision.

Success may result in winning, but winning does not necessarily mean you are a success.

I'm glad I was a teacher.
