Don't whine, complain, or make excuses.

No building is better than its structural foundation, and no man (woman) is better than his (her) mental foundation. When I prepared my original Success Pyramid years ago, I put industriousness and enthusiasm as the two cornerstones with LOYALTY right in the middle of the pyramid - Loyalty to yourself and to all those dependent upon you.

The better conditioned team will probably win in the long run.

Success is a personal matter - only you as an individual can tell if you did everything within your power to give your best effort

It is difficult for young players to learn - because of the great emphasis on records - but, ideally, the joy and frustration of sport should come from the performance itself, not the score. While he is playing, the worst thing a player can think about in terms of concentration - and therefore of success - is losing. The next worst is winning.

Understand there is a price to be paid for achieving anything of significance. You must be willing to pay the price.

If you lose self-control everything will fall.
