She [Sarah Palin] doesn`t quite understand the issue [post-traumatic stress disorder] and, you know, if she`s going to continue to be in this space, hopefully she can do some homework and make some policy recommendation that are relevant to fixing the problem.
Jon SoltzI think if we really break it down and talk about post-traumatic stress disorder, it`s very different than the way Sarah Palin explained it.
Jon SoltzI was shocked [of Sarah Palin ], because beating up, you know, your girlfriend, your spouse, or acts of violence aren`t one of the core symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder.
Jon SoltzThere`s three sort of fundamental things that happen when someone`s suffering from these issues [post-traumatic stress disorder ]. First, they get intrusive thoughts. The second issue is you become startled quickly. And the third key point is it`s avoidance. Those are the three sort of pillar fundamentals of what we consider post-traumatic stress, not violence against someone who`s close to you. There`s just a huge misunderstanding.
