What creates freedom? A revolution in the streets? Mass protest? Civil war? A change of government? The ousting of the old guard and its replacement by the new? History, more often than not, shows that hopes raised by such events are often dashed, sooner rather than later.

Religiosity turns out to be the best indicator of civic involvement: it's more accurate than education, age, income, gender or race.

We should challenge the relativism that tells us there is no right or wrong, when every instinct of our mind knows it is not so, and is a mere excuse to allow us to indulge in what we believe we can get away with. A world without values quickly becomes a world without value.

Freedom... leads those who have more than they need to share with those who have less

I do not want to suggest that you have to be religious to be moral.

Much can and must be done by governments, but they cannot of themselves change lives.

No great achiever - even those who made it seem easy - ever succeeded without hard work.
