This is the great reward of service, to live, far out and on, in the life of others; this is the mystery of Christ, - to give life's best for such high sake that it shall be found again unto life eternal.

Do not give a war cry, do not raise your voices, do not say a word until the day I tell you to shout. Then shout!

I do not pretend to write much of a letter. You know under what circumstances I am writing.

In a world filled with misery and uncertainty, it is a great comfort to know that, in the end, there is light in the darkness.

Lastly, waging war against good people is bad for the soul. This may not seem important to you now, but it's the most important thing I've said.

Be strong and of a good courage: for unto this people shalt thou divide for an inheritance the land, which I sware unto their fathers to give them. Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest prosper whithersoever thou goest.

I don't enjoy killing, but when done righteously, it's just a chore, like any other.
