I write my songs usually while I'm walking around. Or in a car. Or in a bus, a plane, something like that. I jot down lyrics wherever I am. Usually it's on a vomit bag on an airplane or something. I just look for a pen.

I know that positive energy begets positive energy. I know that when I decide to see the good in something or someone, it's returned to me tenfold.

If there's something that I really need to say that I can't say by speaking to someone, I usually write it in a song or a letter to someone.

Try to keep ourselves open, no matter how closed the world tries to make us sometimes.

If we can stay open and embrace our insecurities, our vulnerability, only then will we find the person with whom we are meant to travel through this life.

We are meant to go through this life with a partner, someone who picks us up when we're down.

I started writing songs so late and I had so many day jobs - jobs just to pay the bills. So, when I started doing this, I said, "I'm never gonna do anything to corrupt this. Never try to "sell it." Never gonna do anything to make this a job." I can go five months without writing a song. Then something will happen and I'll write six songs in a week.
