Every decision has a cost. Do I have to make this decision at all or can I move on to the next thing? What we decided to leave out is almost as important as what we put in.

Reduce. Do as little as possible to get what you have to get done.

If you need scale in order to create value, it's hard to get scale, because there's little incentive for the first people to use the product.

Keep an idea log where you write everything down, even the bad ideas.

We did a variant of the intern thing. We hired people as consultants for a specific thing and then if they were good, offered them a job.

You have to solve a problem that people actually have. But it's not always a problem that they know they have, so that's tricky.
