Most people don't go to work and beat up a 13-year-old. It's a really freaky thing.

People don't realize that I started in musical theater. That's where my roots are.

Im a bit insane when it comes to doing my own stunts and getting down and dirty. Its fun, you know? Its things I wouldnt normally do in my real life, so when I go to work and get to beat people up and shoot guns and get waterboarded, those are things I find completely interesting.

If you're going to play strength, you've got to marry that with a vulnerability and give your character some relatable qualities.

I love playing these characters that are crazy tough, though. Because I am not in real life. Not at all.

I like to think that I'm a really strong, tough person, but I'm not. I'm a very, very needy person. I'm very insecure. I'm very impressionable. But, there is a side of me that is very put-together, very strong, very capable and very opinionated. It's the two sides of myself.

I grew up idolizing these men, like Arnold Schwarzenegger. I loved Sly (Stallone). I loved Bruce Willis. These guys embodied everything that action was in the 80s and 90s.
