I love the studio system. Love that studio system and all their money. They're great; I think they're fabulous . You know, what it is right now is I feel like I'm still learning as a filmmaker, I'm still starting out.

I'd like to get something small and self-generated in before Black Rock has whatever life that it has.

I didn't even grow up with football. I learned the rules of football on this show [The League].

You can't sit there and feel bad for yourself and say, "But, it's just not coming to me." That's an instinctual thing to do because that's the way the business normally works. But, when you've got a good brain on your shoulders, I think you can make it happen.

I think there are certain tenets set in place for all different types on genres. For thrillers, women usually die first. I can't say exactly why, and it's kind of a bummer... But I also can't explain why the wallflower girl in the romantic comedy always gets the guy in the end. That's just the way those movies go.

It's cool to get some more energy going and more interest. It's definitely more than it was, still not as much as I'd love it to be, but things are picking up and interesting projects are coming my way, and I love that.

If you can throw $5 back in the crafty, we'll take it, because it just means another meal, which is nice.
