Of course, growing up, I was a big fan of rap so that was something that I got into. I was a fan of a lot of artists. You can be a fan, but at the same time, you gotta carve your own swagger and carve out your own style.

You get comparisons with anything in life. I think that if you [are] taking the time out to compare me to somebody, then I must be doing something right.

Sometimes, you cut off people and you don't even let them know that you aren't messing with them anymore. A lot of people cut themselves off because they can't deal with the new stuff that you have going on.

I don't know what it means to be a star because I don't really look at myself like a star. I look at myself as a regular person, just like everybody else. I just love what I do.

A fan can only go as far as you let them. I've seen crazy things like girls having me autograph their body and then they go get it tattooed. I guess that's too far, but it's cool with me.

I listen to other artists, cuz its like every artist wanna hear something that they never heard before.
