Because he (the Sage) opposes no one, no one in the world can oppose him.
I am good to people who are good. I am also good to people who are not good. Because Virtue is goodness.
Sometimes gain comes from losing, and sometimes loss comes from gaining.
So sometimes things are ahead and sometimes they are behind; Sometimes breathing is hard, sometimes it comes easily; Sometimes there is strength and sometimes weakness; Sometimes one is up and sometimes down. Therefore the sage avoids extremes, excesses, and complacency.
A good traveler has no fixed plans, and is not intent on arriving.
Act non-action; undertake no undertaking; taste the tasteless.
