The great image lacks shape.

The sage has no concern for himself, but makes the concerns of others his own.

Knowledge of the eternal is all-embracing. To be all-embracing leads to righteousness, which is majestic.

If you never assume importance, you never lose it.

Whatever is fluid, soft, and yielding will overcome whatever is rigid and hard. What is soft is strong.

Sincere words are not fine; fine words are not sincere. Those who are skilled (in the Tao) do not dispute (about it); the disputatious are not skilled in it. Those who know (the Tao) are not extensively learned; the extensively learned do not know it.

Let people take death seriously, and not travel far.
