I've never wanted to be anything other than an actor. I started performing on Broadway when I was 8 years old. My first night on stage, I told my mom, "This is what I want to do. I was always a very out-there kid. The sad thing about acting business is it's so fleeting. If I couldn't do that, I was going to go to school and study law and become a lawyer. But I probably would have been miserable, or they would have had some very theatrical court sessions.
Lea MicheleWell, everything with being vegan and vegetarian is a really big commitment. You have to do what you feel is best and what you believe in and what your body is telling you that it needs. I really think everyone should do what's best for them, and what's best for me may not be best for someone else.
Lea MicheleWe live in a world of self-deprecation, and while itโs healthy to make fun of ourselves from time to time, it bothers me when I see women of all ages belittling their accomplishments because they donโt want to appear boastful or overconfident. You donโt see a lot of guys out there underplaying their strengths or making light of what theyโre good at, so why should women? While I get that thereโs a fine line between owning your accomplishments and reciting every line of your rรฉsumรฉ, there is absolutely no shame in being proud of what youโve managed to achieve! Own it!
Lea MicheleI'm very comfortable with my own body. I come from Broadway โ everybody's naked on Broadway. I like to think of myself as more granola. I'm not going to run around naked or anything like that unless I'm at my own home. Today, I walked into my backyard and was standing out there naked for a while. Don't tell: my neighbors will freak out!
